$35,000 Goal

Scotty's House provides safety, healing, and justice for children victimized by abuse through professional assessment, counseling, and education in a compassionate and collaborative approach.

For many of the children we serve, the most important interaction of their lives happens within the walls of Scotty's House. Every child is welcomed by a compassionate team advocating for their safety, healing, and justice.

Since 1995, Scotty’s House has supported child victims of crime throughout the Brazos Valley by taking a collaborative approach at every stage of the child abuse investigation process. Using the proven Child Advocacy Center (CAC) model, we provide needs assessments, advocacy, forensic interviews, medical evaluations, and counseling for children and their non-offending family members. Founded in memory of four-year-old Scotty, who was tragically killed by his father in 1982, Scotty’s House honors his memory by helping children restore their childhood.

In 2025 alone:

  • 1,019 children began their healing journey
  • 671 forensic interviews conducted
  • 644 families received advocacy and support services
  • 155 medical exams conducted
  • 2,933 counseling sessions provided
  • 968 cases reviewed by our MDT

Scotty's House is the only nonprofit in the Brazos Valley involved in the investigation of crimes against children and the only provider of trauma-informed mental health services.

Testimonials

"I support Scotty's House because when I was a child and needed a service like this, it didn't exist. I am the product of a generation that didn't understand the lasting impact that trauma has in our lives. The approach to healing present at Scotty's House will serve these children for the remainder of their lives."

-Current Scotty's House Volunteer

"I am finally starting to feel happy again for the first time in years. It's kind of a strange feeling, but I'm really getting used to it."

 -Scotty's House Client

" I had a teenage client return to counseling for additional services. When our time together was ending and she was graduating from services, she told me how much Scotty's House helped her. She said to me, "It isn't just some sort of program, it actually helps. I consider you part of my family now because I don't know what I would do without you."
