Visual Art Society of B-CS

A nonprofit organization

The Visual Art Society of Bryan-College Station is a 50+ year old all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for local artists of all ages and skill levels to explore, develop and market their creations. Through events and educational programming, VAS strives to foster the appreciation of visual art and aspires to raise awareness about the relevance and intrinsic value of the visual arts in our community and provide annual scholarships for art students.

The Visual Art Society of Bryan-College Station serves as the premier organization for visual arts in the Brazos Valley. Established over 50 years ago as the Brazos Valley Art League, our organization is now located in Degallery in Bryan, TX where we have our meetings and most shows. As artists, we aim to serve artists in our community with networking, teaching and marketing options. We are primarily the doers, makers & creators (those who do the actual work of creating art). We support lifelong learning, community involvement and creativity through our three art shows per year and giving artists the opportunity to showcase their art in three venues. We partner with Degallery in the Annual Downtown Bryan Street & Art Fair. Our primary community event, the Aggieland Art Trail at aggielandarttrail.com now includes 105 art stops throughout Bryan-College Station. Our members and supporters include those who appreciate what we do and who support us with their time and donations. We meet monthly in the evening (open to the public) and also once a month we hold a "Lunch Together." Visitors and new members are always welcome!

"The Visual Art Society of BCS has provided many years of support for the visual arts in Bryan and College Station helping artists develop their skills, expand their interests and provide opportunities to exhibit their work. Being a part of a group of people with similar interests is important to the creative process. It has been a joy for me for seven years." Charles Wallis
"The BVAL/VAS has been a vibrant art league in our community for many decades, providing education in the form of workshops and demonstrations.
