Blackjack Volunteer Fire Department of Robertson County
About this Organization
Your support is vital to help us protect our community.
Blackjack VFD is a 100% volunteer department serving over 120 square miles in rural Robertson County. With limited funding and no paid staff, we respond to fires, crashes, and emergencies across Blackjack, Bryan, Mumford, Hearne, and Franklin.
In 2025 alone, we've already answered 130 calls. Last year, we responded to 165, including 45 wildfires and dozens of serious crashes, many on our dark, unlit 15-mile stretch of Highway 6. Over 45% of our calls are crash-related, and they often involve 18-wheelers, vehicle rollovers, and lifesaving extrication and rescues.
BJVFD frequently provides mutual aid throughout the region. As demand rises and volunteers decline, we remain committed to protecting lives. Your donation helps ensure we have the tools, gear, and training to respond-day or night-when our community needs us most.
