The Brazos Valley Detachment meets on the 2nd Monday each month at American Legion Post 159, 101 Waco St, Bryan, TX, 77803.

- Preserving traditions;
- Promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps, banding together those who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged;
- Effectively promoting the ideals of American freedom and democracy;
- Voluntarily aiding and assisting all Marines, FMF Corpsmen, Chaplains, and their widows and orphans;
- Perpetuating the history of the United States Marine Corps by fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.​
