BISD Education Foundation

The Bryan ISD Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization that raises financial resources to elevate student achievement and support educators across the district.

The Foundation consists of dedicated community members who are passionate about expanding the learning opportunities for BISD students by providing teacher grant awards and scholarship opportunities for outgoing seniors. Through the generous giving of local families and businesses, the Education Foundation was able to award over $615,000 during the 2024-2025 school year to teacher and student initiatives. Two new permanent initiatives were also launched: a staff scholarship program to increase the accessibility of teacher certification credentials and the PAWS Program which provides trained comfort dogs for Bryan ISD campuses.

"A fourth grade student was having a hard morning. His dad passed away a few years ago, but this day was his dad’s birthday. The student was visibly sad and emotional. He was crying, had shut down, and wasn’t responding to anyone. His teacher brought him to see June as he knows June well and enjoys seeing her. June went right up to the student and just laid down by him. She just laid calmly by him for comfort, as if she knew about it being his dad’s birthday. The boy slowly opened up and began petting June. After a few minutes of being with June, he stopped crying. The student, June, and I went outside to play basketball for a little while before he returned to his class."

"Today, Mochi provided Emotional Support for a 4th grade student that has test anxiety while he was taking a math test.  The teacher and I met with mom last week and right now she declined counseling to help his anxiety because she thought it would just make him more anxious. I brought up the idea of bringing Mochi into the room while he tested and mom thought that was a great idea. So here we are! It looks like she’s doing a great job! The teacher mentioned that the whole class seems a lot calmer!"
