Elizabeth Lutheran Church Community Pantry

The mission of the Community Pantry at Elizabeth Lutheran Church is to provide food to Burleson County neighbors-in-need.  

The price of groceries keeps going up, along with every other cost of living.  We help senior citizens, so they're not choosing between medicine or food; enable students to perform better in school, because they are not going to bed hungry or worrying about their next meal; and allow parents to provide more nutritious meals for their families.

We are a drive-thru, equal-opportunity pantry.  On the third Saturday of every month, families receive approximately 100 pounds of food: non-perishable staples to include: dry beans, rice, cereal, shelf-stable milk, peanut butter, pasta and pasta sauce, soup, quick meals, canned: meat, fruit, and vegetables, ready meals, pasta sauce and pasta.  Further, all clients receive frozen meat; fresh produce, and, when available, bread, milk, and eggs.  The lion's share of food comes through our partnership with the Brazos Valley Food Bank.  However, we purchase additional items for our clients every month, as well as special items for holidays (hams, hens, stuffing, etc).
