The Friends provide program funding that is not provided by county or state funds. The Friends fund the Summer Reading Programs for all ages, provide staff appreciation funds, fund professional development, purchase software programs for using electronic books, performers and speakers for the community, and pay movie licenses and other licenses which allows the library to offer many programs. Support and funding is provided to all three of the local libraries, Larry J. Ringer Library, College Station; Carnegie History Center, Bryan; and Clara B. Mounce Public Library, Bryan, TX.The Friends is celebrating 70th Anniversary this year and providing additional funding to the library system for a series of author talks for all ages.
