The Y is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Guided by our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, the Y is dedicated to giving people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life the opportunity to reach their full potential with dignity. Whether it be our Preschoolers starting their learning journey, a child learning to be safe in the water, a parent focusing on their health, or a senior making a friend; the YMCA of Central Texas is for all. Through our Strong Kids Campaign, the YMCA of Central Texas has provided over 75,000 scholarships a year to our community members so that all can participate in Y programs regardless of their inability to pay.

By introducing YMCA programming to the Brazos Valley, the YMCA of Central Texas promised to help meet these needs mentioned above. To do this, a Founders Group comprised of prominent community leaders was organized. This Founders Group has pledged to raise $300,000 (which will be matched by the YMCA of Central Texas) to cover the startup costs of establishing YMCA programs in the Brazos Valley.
