The Bluebonnet Children's Choir

The dream of the Bluebonnet Children's Choir is to develop and inspire an intrinsic love of music in all interested children and families of the Brazos Valley community. Through a high-quality, choral music education in a joyful, welcoming environment, the Bluebonnet Children's Choir not only helps children build their musical talents but inspires community and self-efficacy.

To accomplish this goal, we provide a free children's choir serving children grades 2-8. Music is expensive and it shouldn't be. Everyone can be part of music! We want to bring the joy that singing together brings to our community because music is the soul of a community. We meet once a week on Mondays from 6-7 and have 3 formal concerts a year. We also make sure to help our choir members learn the value of community service and giving back to our communities, so we make it a point to serve at least 5 times a year such as playing games with seniors in senior living centers, performing at the George Bush Library Easter celebration, and serving St. Andrew's Episcopal. While religious choirs are a significant resource, we believe it's also important to provide a secular choir to encourage inclusivity. Our whole goal is to educate and grow our choir members to be community members who give back.

Testimonials

"When we started out, we had three super shy girls who have now found their voice and truly enjoy performing and singing! Our home is filled with the joyful sounds of our children singing, experimenting with singing in parts, teaching themselves new pieces of music etc. We joke that we have our very own Backseat Choir!"

"The Bluebonnet Children's Choir has given my child exposure to a wide variety of music, the joy of singing, the opportunity to contribute to something bigger than one person, and the confidence of knowing that she can accomplish amazing things with practice!"
