The Brazos Valley Food Bank (BVFB) utilizes food, funds, and friends to bring the Brazos Valley closer to being hunger-free. BVFB continues to grow in reach and impact. Last year, we served over 74,000 people and distributed more than 7.7 million pounds of food. We solve hunger today by distributing nutritious food through our 40 partner agencies that directly feed people in their communities. Where gaps exist, BVFB steps in with targeted programs: BackPacks of food for children, School Food Pantries for older students, Senior Bags for homebound seniors, Mobile Pantries for rural neighbors, Project GotEM for home delivery, and Screen & Intervene to connect patients with food resources. At the same time, BVFB works to end hunger through education, empowerment, and prevention. We assist with benefits, provide referrals for unmet needs, offer nutrition education, and operate Together We Grow, preparing individuals for employment through training and garden-based learning.
