Grimes County Animal Rescue

Grimes County Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been built and is operating a no-kill animal shelter for the rescue and placement of stray dogs and cats in Grimes County.

These animals come into our care needing love, veterinary care, and rehabilitation. These elements teach these animals that people do love and care for them. It takes a lot to get each animal happy, healthy, and into an adoptive family. Please consider donating to the cause. We would even love for you to donate your time as a volunteer or a foster! We work closely with Navasota Animal Control and Grimes County Sheriff's Office in pursuing animals in need of saving from abandonment, abuse and hoarding situations. We have a robust foster program and work closely with partner and breed specific rescues.

So far in the year of 2026 we have taken in over 407 animals. That means our day to day medical care cost have risen. We do daily heartworm test, fecal checks, de worming, skin scrapes, medicated baths. We do flea/tick and heartworm preventive daily. We also administer medication daily multiple times a day. Weather the dog is with us in the rescue until adoption or in foster we provide all care. We also provide care to all dogs transferring to partner rescues weather they are with us for a day or months. So they can start a new beginning.  Please donate so we can continue to provide all necessary day to day medical needs to make our animals adoptable.
