Middleway Urban Monastery
About this Organization
Middleway Urban Monastery provides a space to dabble with one's spirituality, either on your own or with our community of spiritual directors and guests from all walks of life. No proselytizing, no telling you how to think, no judging. We allow you to question and discover God. ​Middleway comes from the ancient phrase, "via media," which is to go by the middle, as in everything in moderation, neither too far to the right or left.
We started as a virtual space in 2020 during the COVID pandemic and also as a response to the Pew Research Institute's report on the 2019 Religion in America study, which indicated a decline in people affiliating with any religion. Reports indicate that the pandemic led to an even larger drop in the numbers affiliated with religion. We are a new concept, not only for the Brazos Valley but in the nation. We want to maintain and grow this effort to reach people who are spiritual seekers. We believe it is good for the community.

Open Tuesday-Friday and some Saturdays and Sundays. Drop in for a visit and/or attend a special program. We are not a church but a godly place for people to come and explore their spirituality Free, but donations accepted.
