Scotty's House
About this Organization
For many of the children we serve, the most important interaction of their lives happens within the walls of Scotty's House. Every child is welcomed by a compassionate team advocating for their safety, healing, and justice.
For 30 years, Scotty's House has supported child victims of crime in the Brazos Valley through a collaborative approach at every stage of the child abuse investigation process. Using the proven Child Advocacy Center (CAC) model, we provide needs assessments, advocacy, forensic interviews, medical evaluations, and counseling for children and their non-offending family members. Founded in 1995 in memory of four-year-old Scotty, tragically killed by his father in 1982, Scotty's House honors all children impacted by abuse and neglect.
In 2024 alone:
• 1,022 children began their healing journey
• 642 forensic interviews conducted
• 648 families received advocacy and support services
• 150 medical exams conducted
• 3,226 counseling sessions provided
• 976 cases reviewed by our MDT
Scotty's House is the only nonprofit in the Brazos Valley involved in the investigation of crimes against children and the only provider of trauma-informed mental health services.
