What if a few boards, some helping hands, and a little generosity could restore hope for someone?
This is one of the ways that Rebuilding Together Brazos Valley (RTBV) comes to the aid of some low-income elderly, disabled, and veteran homeowners in our communities. Sometimes coming home from the hospital is conditional because the homeowner first needs a wheelchair ramp installed. Building a ramp and landing does more than merely connect a doorway to the ground—it creates freedom, independence, and the ability to live safely with dignity.
The average cost to build a wheelchair ramp with landing is about $2,000.00. Costs vary based on ramp length, materials, and site conditions.
The goal of this fundraiser is to raise the funds needed for materials, supplies, and construction of approximately 10 ramps a reality. A donation of just $10 can buy one 8-foot 2x6 board.
