Health Is a Right, Not a Privilege

I believe something pretty simple: people deserve healthcare based on what they need, not whether they have an insurance card.

For nearly 40 years, Health For All has been here for people in the Brazos Valley who have nowhere else to turn for healthcare.

I’ve had the privilege of being part of that work for more than a decade, and I’ve seen what happens when someone finally has a place to go.

Sometimes it’s getting diabetes or high blood pressure under control. Sometimes it’s finding a medication someone couldn’t afford. Sometimes it’s catching something early, before it becomes an emergency.

And sometimes it’s simply the relief of hearing, “Yes. We can help you.”

Last year alone, Health For All cared for 855 uninsured neighbors through 3,452 visits. We provided medications, lab work, chronic disease care, behavioral health services, dental care, vision care and connections to specialists.

We do all of that without billing insurance and without state or federal operating funding.

This community makes it possible.

That’s why I’m asking you to join me during Brazos Valley Gives.

My goal is to raise $2,400 for Health For All. At an average cost of about $240 per medical visit, that can cover the cost of 10 visits for people who might otherwise go without care.

You don’t have to fund the whole clinic. You don’t have to solve healthcare.

You can help make sure the next person who needs us has somewhere to turn.
