Aggieland Humane Society

About this Organization

Aggieland Humane Society has served the Brazos Valley's pets and residents since 1983 as a not-for-profit shelter. Originally named Brazos Animal Shelter, our name changed in 2012 to reflect our community's spirit. We provide shelter and care to about 3,000 pets yearly - lost pets reunited with families, homeless strays, injured or sick animals, and those with behavioral needs. Thanks to supporters like you, all pets receive assessment, treatment, and love from our dedicated staff.

In 2017, we opened a spay/neuter unit that has performed over 30,000 surgeries, helping control pet populations and improve animal welfare in our region.

Our mission is to provide humane shelter, care, treatment, and placement for lost and unwanted pets. Some programs include spay/neuter surgeries at local shelters and at-risk populations, general care like food and vaccinations, medical rescue, heartworm treatment, fostering, and more.

We promote the human-animal bond and responsible pet ownership to improve life for pets and people in our community. As a local, independent charity, we do not receive national operating funds. Please keep your support local and help save lives here at home. Thank you!
